The acclaimed French photographer Patrick Willocq was commissioned by Save the Children to produce a series of images on the theme of refuge.

Patrick decided that rather than simply photographing his subjects in the refugee camps of Tanzania and Lebanon he would create an innovative theatrical treatment.

Willocq says:” I wanted the overall feel to be colourful, naive and surreal, so that the audience may look at them without apprehension despite the hardness of the message.”
